Show hidden Devices after P2V for Windows 2008 / R2

You maybe surprise when you want to cleanup your Windows 2008 after P2V that you don’t see the Hidden Devices in windows manager even when you run the well-known commad when you are logged in using Domain Accout set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 or set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=yes. Why, because of the security feature in Windows 2008 won’t let the command to take effect..

 Solution:

1: Run the Command Prompt as Administrator

2. set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 or set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=yes

3. devmgmt.msc ,, if you dont do this in command and you go to Manage -> Device Manager -> and Show Hidden devices, you won’t see the hidden devices.
